They Really Made A Difference Award is given posthumously to a BPUSA member who has made extraordinary contributions to the organization, usually over a sustained period of time. These contributions have made a significant difference in the strength and ability of BPUSA to comfort and support families as they rebuild their lives after the death of their children.
In 1998 the Roy and Juanita Peterson Award was created to annually recognize and honor a BPUSA member who has exemplified truly dedicated service to our organization, usually at both the national and the local levels. The persons so honored are volunteers who have given extraordinary amounts of time and energy to assisting newly bereaved families in our common grief journey as well as helping with the work crucial to the operation of our organization. This award is to honor members who are not in a designated leadership position, but have demonstrated a deep commitment to BPUSA and its mission. Nominations can be submitted by anyone within the BPUSA organization and will be chosen by the Board of Directors and announced at the National Gathering.
This award is to honor a local chapter leader who has demonstrated outstanding leadership to their local chapter. The nominations can be submitted by anyone within the BPUSA organization and nominees will be chosen by the Board of Directors and announced at the National Gathering.
